Boarding time

Continued from last post

Boarding time

Soon it was time to board the aircraft - a Boeing and passengers travelling in Business Class, mothers with children and those in the front seats were called in that order to board. My group – passengers with tickets numbered 30 – 45, were the last to board.

My First Trip to The Netherlands

By Edmund Smith-Asante

The last time I visited Europe was in 2009 when by courtesy of InWent I had the opportunity to visit Germany for a course in Newspaper Management.

So when another opportunity reared its head for me to attend a conference in The Netherlands I grabbed it.

Things however looked very uncertain till the very last moment when all travel documents were in place and I realised I was now set to travel.

The day of travel
Finally, the long awaited travel day, Sunday, June 2, 2013 arrived and I left home accompanied by my family, for the airport. Although I was there in good time, I realised to my chagrin that I had to be in a very long queue, due to the number of people traveling on that same flight to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.

The Kotoka International Airport was also very flooded with people travelling and others arriving. After finally checking in and proceeding to Boarding Gate 3 after 1 hour 50 minutes, I was amazed to see the number of airlines that had landed around the same time and were being readied for take-off to their destinations.
Airlines on the tarmac included Kenya Airways, South African Airways, Alitalia, British Airways, Delta Airlines, Air Ivoire and KLM.

Let’s talk about the flight in the next post.

My Travel Experiences

Delft at Night (9:45pm)

My dream of creating a travel blog to share my experiences just materialised after midnight (00:08 hours) in far away Delft in the South Holland Province in the Netherlands.
Stay tuned for my interesting experiences (http://eddiesmith.blogspot.com/2009/12/my-experience-in-germany.html; http://eddiesmith.blogspot.com/2009/12/my-wahala-in-germany.html).
